Beautiful birds hosted by Susan Bird โค๏ธR ๐บ๐ธ. This is a leucistic bluebird. Much of the blue pigment is missing so most of the feathers are white. This picture was taken by a local bird photographer. She was thrilled when this bird showed up at her backyard feeder. It has a preference for peanuts, which it cracks with its beak. This is such a rare coloring she said she felt she had seen the unicorn of the bird world.
Really beautiful birdโฃ๏ธโฃ๏ธ. And beautifully done, as always๐๐๐

Wow! Great choice for the challenge, Karen! Fantastic coloring on this extremely rare leucistic bluebird. Leucistic birds have less melanin causing the bird to be lighter in color, white patches where there shouldnโt be any or overall white plumage like an albinistic bird. Leucistic birds have normal colored eyes, feet, legs and beaks. The level of leucism will vary depending on the birdโs genetic mutation. Thank you for sharing this unique bird and for joining the Beautiful Bird Challenge.
