Hello girls, guys, non binary folk and everyone in between. My name is Enira and today I drew Gyumi! (she/her) So as I've been learning Korean lately, I decided to look more into Korean culture and learned about hanbok, which is traditional korean dress. I loveeeee hanbok (and Asian dress in general, it's so gorgeous 😭) like it's really simple and yet so pleasing to look at I also learned more about the gumiho/kumiho (I already knew some from cookie run but shhh 🤫) and they're super cool. Gumihos are Korean nine-tailed fox spirit shape shifters who use their charm to s€duc€ and lure in people to eat their livers/hearts. They're mostly portrayed as evil, though if a gumiho refrains from eating people for 1000 days, it can become fully human. (So think the Japanese kitsune but usually evil and c@nn!b@li$tic,,, there's a lot of overlap between them 😅) I decided to take those two aspects of Korean culture and turn into a character! I already have a South Korean character (Marina) but they're more modern, and Gyumi is a lot more traditonal. So Gyumi is a gumiho, (gyumi is a placeholder name till I find I better one but I'll probably just get attached to it like I do with all my placeholder names 💀) and she appears as a minor antagonist in Charlie and Evelyn. Charlie and Evelyn visit another world and find Gyumi there, who tries to eat them 💀 Yeahhh that's all I got for her lore for now I just thought she was pretty 😭 I really love this drawing, it's so gorgeous to me. I think the clothes could use some work, and as I do more research on hanbok I will try to make them look better lol. On the left is women's hanbok, and the right is men's hanbok. Gumihos can shapeshift into anyone of any gender or age, but theyre most commonly a beautiful woman to lure someone in. Gyumi is no exception, she mostly shapeshifts into a woman just because she can. Whenever she wants to lure someone in idk she presents more femme and wears women's hanbok (left). But when shes just kinda chilling around she likes to present more masc and wears men's hanbok (right). It was hard to drew the hanbok ngl, it was a style of clothes I had never experimented with before but I think I got it ok. The ends of her hair are supposed to resemble fox tails, which I think is cute. Sorry I haven't been posting, I haven't been busy I just got lazy 💀😅 That's all for today, byeee!
