3 years agoHi Brenda, I’m so sorry you and your husband have been thru so much my sweet daughter. I haven’t had my I pad for over a months & a half so I’ve been out of touch with everyone. My kids gave me anew I pad for Christmas then my grandson in law set it up for me & then it was up to Penny to get me back on RC. Penny had a stomach bug for a month & was very sick so needless to say I had to wait for her to get better. They did all kinds of testing & everything came back negative. The Dr finally put

3 years agoher on an antibiotic & the diarrhea stopped and so far so good. So she finally got me back onRC. Thank goodness for her & we are thankful she is doing better. How is your hubby doing? Is he out of pain now and is he going for therapy? You must be so exhausted. I wish I lived near you so I could help you out. I am not much good any more tho as I just get so tired out. My husband & I just got our first vaccination shots for the Covid two weeks ago and we get our second one Valentine’s Day.❤️❤️❤️

3 years agoA nice present. We did not have any reaction to the 1st shot thank goodness but I understand the second one you do feel more. Not looking forth to that. I imagine you are so busy on the Ranch with no husband to help with things. Your in our prayers & we pray your husband will heal up soon & feel much better. That must have been terrible that the hip socket just gave out. He must have been In excruciating pain. Love you sweetie. Keep us informed of everything. Love & have missed you. ❤️❤️❤️💜💜💜💙💙💙

3 years agoOh sh*t Brenda!😱Just came to see if you’ve returned & then read through your comments! Poor Kent, poor you!Saw that his hip bone “crumbled”; I shivered at that image!😢(Assuming it may have been due to osteonecrosis?)
My SIL’s brother had similar (as a child)
& then a few years ago at 28yo he had surgery to restore leg length. He’s an athlete & now, better than ever! It’s a LOT to go through-physically & emotionally.My heart feels for you guys. I’m sure Kent’s in therapy—hope you are too!🤪🤦🏼♀️Hugss

3 years agoPS My last trip was to Texas in the beginning of COVID. While there, my husband broke his hip. It shattered and the poor guy continued to walk on it, thinking it was just an “injury”!! I wanted to fly home but he insisted I shouldn’t. Finally, after 2 days and intolerable pain he conceded to calling an ambulance since walking was no longer an option! While I remained in TX he had hip replaced & I flew back the night he was released! Due to Covid he’s been unable to get proper PT! It ain’t easy!🤭

3 years ago@🌹🌹🤎GiGi RoSe🤎🌹🌹 Thank you Gigi! I’ve been off RC since Dec. 22 taking care of him and the ranch here. He’s doing well, not walking quite yet but a week from today we hope to get the go ahead on that. So all is well and I thank you hugely for your well wishes!!!

3 years ago@ValBe81 Omg, Val! I can’t believe your hubs did that while you were in Texas! He sounds just like Kent.😕 Kent limped for 5 years with the osteoarthritis, but his final diagnosis was avascular necrosis. After his last xray which showed the hip completely in tact, the blood supply stopped and the ball was destroyed within 16 weeks. He’s doing great. Surgery was 2 months ago yesterday but he couldn’t get to his appt this week bc of the ice storm and snowfall. Central Texas is not prepared for

3 years ago@ValBe81 ..such. One week from today we get that dr visit and we hope he gets the go ahead to begin weight bearing on that right side. Hopefully the broken pelivis is healed so he can begin rehab on it. It’s been a tough challenge! Met it! Beat it! Am so looking forward to the next few weeks and especially if he can finally park that dang rolling chair with th’ joystick! It’s worse than tons of baby equipment..I remember how glad I was when that stuff started disappearing, lol!!!

3 years ago@ValBe81 Kent’s been in a bit of PT here at home just to build upper body strength while that bone graft heals in his pelvis. He’s made huge progress in that regard. I have been in zero therapy; never in my life, no physical therapy, no emotional therapy. Just keep going. :)))). I’m better off than many people...I have no complaints. Especially since America got a new dad! How is your husband doing these days????? I’m very curious. Is he around Kent’s age? 68 ish?
