2 years agoWhat a gorgeous violet-backed starling, sweet Diane. Fabulous coloring!
The violet-backed starling (aka plum-colored or amethyst starling) is a relatively small bird (7 in). It lives in the woodlands and savannah forest edges of mainland sub-Saharan Africa and usually is found in trees and other non-ground sources. Pairs and small flocks occupy open woodland, riverine forest, and wooded parkland. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous starling and for joining the Beautiful Bird Challenge.
