I made a dragon in the sky.
Drawing with the finger is hard!
I much prefer paper and pencil.
The little guy looks reasonably dragon like to me, so thatβs good enough for me!

It took me a while to be happy with the colors on the mountain area.

Thank you all for your kind comments!!
Usually I know what rough colors I want in a picture but the only think I knew what I wanted when I started was a night scene, a purple dragon and adding lightning.

Thank you!
Itβs the wings that Iβm not happy with.
What can I say, Iβm still learning to draw so Iβll eventually get it down properly.
I should have used a reference picture though!!
Usually I have looked at pictures in the past to get an idea of angles but didnβt this time.

I use my phone for this app. Not a big screen but it does the job.
Would be easier if I had a stylus, tablet and or computer so I could see a bigger picture.
Iβm trying to challenge myself by making more backgrounds. I have been kind of making edits to things but I hope to eventually create an entire scene.
I have seen so many artists on here create beautiful backgrounds!
After making that dragon, I actually comprehend the amount of effort that goes into it.

As far as coloring, I value details a lot.
I primarily focusing on that.
I try to think about color combinations, lighting/shadows, and texture.
The last two give the picture life so I try to think about angles of light. I try to make it somewhat realistic but I also understand that some things are pretty even if they donβt match reality.
Highlights are probably one of the most important things to me for quick depth.
Making the highlight brighter than base catches the eye.
