2 years agoTrue, Kazzz! Gorgeous male piliated woodpecker feeding his babies! Fabulous coloring! The Pileated Woodpecker is one of the biggest, most striking forest birds in North America. Itโs nearly the size of a crow. It whacks at dead trees and fallen logs in search of carpenter ants, leaving unique rectangular holes in the wood. Its nest holes offer crucial shelter to many species (allaboutbirds.com). Thank you for sharing this beautiful picture and for joining the Beautiful Bird Challenge.
