...never forget: many desperate people on floors above the burning aircraft choosing to fling themselves out of windows 70+ stories up in the air rather than be burned alive by the jet fuel. The cameras followed the bodies as they flew down like small dolls, & then cut away before they landed. My heart kept breaking & I couldn't breathe. I saw people watching the Towers from below & I wanted to scream at them, "Why aren't you running away, you're in danger, if you can't help???!" Then the Towers

...just crumbled, & I knew I had just witnessed the instantaneous deaths of countless innocent people, & I felt so helpless. My work stayed open all day, but badly a soul came in to do business, it was deathly quiet. I felt overwhelming numbness, confusion, & anxiety. I drove home & made sure I got gas because there was talk of price gauging. Which happened until it was made illegal. I went home & like most everyone else was glued to the 24hour cable TV news programs, which really came into

...their own post -9/11. I finally found out my best friends were ok. But for weeks & months I was frozen in anxiety in front of my cable TV news when I was home. We all wore American flag pins for a very long time on our clothes. Our cars had Flag stickers in our windows. The nation tried to come together in some way to mourn the horrific losses & understand the reason behind the terrorism. Unfortunately, there were lots of conflicting reports, purposefully misleading information for political

...reasons, & a government that at the Federal level used 9/11 to justify usurping rights that they never should have & still impact us today. Not to mention lives lost in a war for WMDs that knowingly never existed, in a country that had little to nothing to do with 9/11. And then there's Afghanistan. Everything to do with 9/11 breaks my heart. I saw the Pentagon a month after 9/11, I saw the damage & all the military & the new anti aircraft missiles. I won't ever forget how long it took me to

wow this is stunning 🥺🌸💕🫧🫧✨✨👑⚡️ aotd: mm yea, my parents talk about how they saw it on the news that day or something like that. i do think it’s important we learn about this day 👍🏻. my dad said that he and his co-worker’s were sent home bc of 9/11. he said that no one was outside and it was a red alert. then, my mom was on the way to work so she heard on it the news.

my mom was working at her hotel at around 18-20 years old my dad was working at a cigarette shop right around the corner (they hadn’t met yet) all of a sudden the tvs in both buildings showed the planes crashing into the towers and everybody just went silent. my grandma was driving somewhere (don’t know where but it was close to the towers) she could see them from where she was. all of a sudden the towers were struck, almost fell on her car. luckily you got out safely. this makes me so sad

It is such a sad day in history. People talk about it. seeing the people jump and having it posted on the internet is sickening. I hope that no one has to live through this again. @Peeps I am so sorry you had to experience that horrific tragedy. I am glad that you are still here today. @andriavanb I am so sorry, I’m glad you made it out ok. RIP to all those lives lost. To all the survivors out there I hope you are doing ok. Believe me I know a lot about 9/11, I feel the need to know about peoples suffering and sadness on the day that I’m so happy on. 9/11 is my birthday and yeah it gets annoying to watch sad videos on my birthday every year, but I don’t disrespect the day. I feel for all the people that lost there lives and the people that had to live without those people. I wasn’t alive 9/11/01 but my mom was and she told me how she was in high school. They got to live school early, everyone was excited at….

….first then everyone in the hall froze. Watching the tv in the main office. She said no one moved or talked. They were all scared. I remember that.

@Multicolored artist 2.0 It was a day none of us forget for those that lived through it. I wish I could erase it from my mind. The first time I flew after 9/11 I was very anxious & almost didn’t get on the plane, and I’ve always loved to fly, but it wasn’t about that. It was about trust. And I had very little for a long time after 9/11.
