1 year ago@Dee Van I'm not sure you're understanding where @Katie art and I were coming from. I don't have any problem with you proclaiming "God is Love". I LOVE and believe in God. I think what we were pointing out as members of the LGBTQ+ community is that you had taken a template specifically shared for Pride Month and covered over "Love is love" with the word "God". 1 year ago...2nd class citizens, perhaps instead of being defensive, you might want to think about how your message is coming across to someone not in your privileged shoes. We get one month to shine the light on our community, and we're not looking to be reminded that our love is lesser, or be judged, or reminded that everyone doesn't agree with us. We live in that knowledge every single day of our lives! There isn't a moment that I don't know that I'm different, and that I'm judged by most. I need more

When have you ever been in a minority power position unless it was around all white males? Please don't be hurt, don't slip into defensiveness, or dismiss me because "you have the right to your opinion". You do. 1 year ago...what it's like to fear for your life if you hold your dates hand in public, to not have your partner have the right to visit you in hospital unless they lie and say they're your cousin, to have people stare at you, to sit in judgement of you just because of who you are, and to be an American born here without full citizenship rights guaranteed. I just got the right to marry, and now it looks like that's going to be taken away in the future again. Can you try to put yourself in my shoes? 🌈❤

I can’t personally speak to what happens in America because I’m Canadian but some people just don’t get it, how difficult it is for us
(and that isn’t directed towards anyone just a general statement)
