This is me as a cup of tea about any & every thing I say/do/think - seriously. And after 18 yrs of being on anxiety meds - I took myself off of them.

learned last week that the anxiety meds I'm on don't do a thing if I have a full blown panic attack ๐ถ

@PhoxyLady Yeah, Iโve been there, done that, too. The Dr.โs told me that I would have to start seeing a psychiatrist to get the refills from now on b/c of the โcrack downโ on Dr.โs & Rxโs - really? After 18 hrs on them & never once did I call & ask for them to refilled before the due date ๐. It would be a $150 co-pay vs. my reg Dr. of $40. Basically, more money for the Dr.โs & more hassle & anxiety for me. So.....

yeah that medication crack down affected me as well ... if I get one of my massive migraines (i.e. one that keeps me in bed crying from the pain for 3 days) I now have to either go to the doctor or the ER for a shot because my doctor isn't allowed to prescribe me one of the few medications that works that I'm not allergic to

I stopped eating nightshades and anxiety went away. This happened after years of trying to overcome it. Night shades are potatoes (yams and sweet potatoes are ok, though), tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and some pepper- based spices like paprika and chili. It took about 3 days to get anxiety-free, though I started feeling better after a day. I looked it up and anxiety can be a side effect of these foods in some people.

@inner kid/Elin Wow, I would have never guessed! I havenโt been eating any potatoes since May (well, I had French fries twice) and Iโm not too keen on all of the others...so, maybe it will calm me down. Doctors never really tell you about foods & their side effects, which is a shame b/c there are SO many side effects to so many different foods! Thanks for the info! ๐
